First Street Shots with the Nikkor 50 mm F1.8 Prime

With the D40, I have to hand focus this prime lens. Sometimes I miss the sharp focus and waste a shot. But when I get it right it is really right. All these photos are substantially cropped (and shrunk--from the raw).

No--but I take a lot of street pictures of people. You might just be saturated.

Even having to manual focus this is one nice lens. Unobtrusive and good for street photography.

I love that first shot... the scratches/worn look of the shelter glass give it a certain 'grittiness' that communicates beyond just the shot
