    Something you may not know

I went out with a friend last night to take some pictures and he remarked that he wished the white balance control had a setting for sodium street lights. He has a D300, D700, and a D3s and didn't realize there is a setting for sodium and mercury vapor light in the white balance setting. Go to WHITE BALANCE, then FLORESCENT, then you have several florescent types, along with Sodium, and mercury vapor.
I am posting this just in case some of you take night pictures and have one of those lights that puts out the orange color so you will know you do have a setting for it in your menu, Jeff

Just in case you didn't know......

Re: Something you may not know

You know, I've never even really thought about that. I've either used auto or used one of those white balance lens caps if I cared enough. My issue is that I don't know that lights are what beyond fluorescent or incandescent. After scrolling through them and taking several shots, auto still seems to do pretty well.

Feel free to edit my images for critique, just let me know what you did.
