I ordered this package last week. It comes out to over $4000.00. I paid $900 for it.



I also got a 4 year warranty with it and an extra lithium battery. Im SO excited to get it! I have heard the BEST things about the Nikon D50! :thumbsup:

I have seen SO many beautiful pics from it that I had to get it! The price was WAY cheap. Im just waiting on it to get here so my dream will prove it was true. LOL! I found it on EBay from a company called Digital Shopping. They had very well credentials and I just cant wait!!

Cool. Where'd you buy from? Ihope you didn't get scammed. It seems though that ebay companies are really trying to trick people though. That kit is not worth $4000 no matter what they tell you. You did get a good deal though.

Yeah It doesn't come out to $4000, but still, good price on it.

I also wouldn't trust the D50 to that little tripod and if you like quality, the wide angle converter lens isn't a good idea and may put undue strain on the lens mount (which on teh 18-55 is plastic) and the Autofocus system.

Getting the package makes it so much simpler than buying one or two things at a time.

I've heard good things about the D50 (Lava Lamp LOVES his).

As the others have said, you have maybe $900 - $1000 worth of gear there, not $4000.

D50 = $400 to $500, depending on where you get it
18-55 = $100 or less
70-300 = $150 or less
Memory = $50 each
Wide Converter = $50 or less
Budget tripods and case/box/reader/kit = $50 all together tops

Still in all, not a bad deal, just not a steal.

Hrm...I calculate it as:
D50 w/18-55 lens (from a reputable dealer): $664
70-300 G: $110
2x 1gb SD cards: $85-90.
agreed- wide converter and cases etc. $100 or less.
so altogether about $1k.
