    Question extension tubes

    i was looking to get some extension tubes for my D80 since i dont have enough money right now for a good zoom/macro lens. i came across these on B+H photo

    it seems kenko is the brand for nikon. i havent really come across another manufacturer. i've also read that people have used these. any suggestions? thanks

    I have a set of the Kenko (Canon mount) tubes, and they are great. They take some getting use to, but once you figure them out, they open up a whole new world. One thing to keep in mind is that you will want to focus manually.

    I bought some kenkos on ebay a while back and haven't even tried them yet...guess I better dig them out

    i have them kenko tubes for my D50 - they work great with all the lenses ---- get really close with the 50mm / with the longer lenses can use the zoom to focus .... gets really touchy with the focus - make sure you use a tripod at the closer ranges ....

    I have some tubes for my Olympus and even though they are for the camera you can forget AF. I have to set the camera in manual. In other words, non-Nikon tubes may work just as good if the Nikon ones are like the Olys. They take getting use to.
