    Yes, lots of tattered wings. Tough short life for these little gems.

    a tail of survival, literally. There tails help fool predators into thinking that's there head and gives them a chance to get away. So usually when you see a beaten up butterfly like this they had a close encounter with a bird and survived with a story to tell it's friends.

    There pretty, I usually only get to see eastern around here and the odd time a black tiger
