Looks a lot like the pass coming into death valley from the south end of Vegas.

Yep, sure does! I've travelled most of the Major roads in the US at least once, but scenes like this seem not to have made a lasting geo-tag impression on my brain

This scene is similar to so many I saw from Texas north to Idaho and California east to the Dakotas, that I only guessed based on where I knew you'd been.

Valley of the Gods. Can't remember exact location, but I do remember a similar winding road thru this desert in the southwest.

    What do I win?

Yes, it's UT-261 looking SouthEast towards the Valley of the Gods.
I didn't know what it's called, I had to google earth that.
Bell Buute, Scotchman Butte, and FLag Butte I think.

Did the drive in that area some 12+ years ago but the landscape is unforgettable.

    Cheers,

Unforgettably FLAT in places, with amazingly straight roads.
But going up Moki's Dugway was an experience.
Particularly with a truck, and trailer coming DOWN at us.
