    Your Opinion, Please

First, Happy New Year. I hope the New Year is kind to you.

I am struggling with this series of photos. I need your help. As you will see they are have traditional issues such as very grainy due to the low light, high ISO, and blurry/focus due to being hand held. But, there is something about them that is appealing but just cannot decide. So, please help...., are they just crap and throw them away or is there something worthwhile.

    Thanks,

    CF (David)

The second and third are my favs. Very dreamy and mysterious, like something from Narnia series. First one is close, but a little too blurry for me.

Hi, CF - I like #4 the best as it has the best combination of facial expression, facial sharpness, mane pattern, and noise.

The others are a bit too "artsy" for me. But I see what you were going for.

I think the first two are failed attempts. Based on what you said, you did not want them to turn out that way at all. Composition-wise the lion needs more room all around, especially where it was facing.

The other three, on my monitor they look kind of dark to me. I suppose they could be fixed together with the noise. But the sharpness seem to be missing. As photos of records, I don't see anything wrong with them.

Keep them or trash them it's up to you. Many do keep everything they shoot, bad photos or not.

Thanks all for your comments. And you are correct, I did not intend for any of these shots to come out this way. I was really taken by the results as I have never seen anything like this from my camera. I strive for razor sharpness, spot on exposier and these are nothing of the sort. I think it is the "new" look from my hand that perhaps captures the intrigue; where in the heck did this come from! I appreciate your comments. It's a growth experience.

    Hi CF,

I like the 2nd one, certainly looks like Aslan of Narnia The 1st it looks like the lion is squatting down for a pooh behind the bush/tree

The last three are all too dark for me, but I prefer the last one where you can see the eyes!

    What lens did you use?

    Pink,

Thanks very much for adding your thoughts. The lion was actually jumping down from a branch of the nearby tree. I caught him in part of that leap. I appreciate your comment on the others.
