    Young coopers (I think)

    I think this is a juvenile coopers hawk. Check out the size of them feet's I can't recall seeing a coopers hawk with such large talons.

    Thank you Bev, and yes that is snow. It has been snowing here since last Thursday, thankfully it is not cold enough for it to stay on the ground too long.

    I'll go with cooper's, but the sharpshinned at that age and angle isn't easy to tell apart from a cooper's hawk.
