    Yellowstone, hayden valley Elk

    the rut is about to start. these young bulls were practicing early one morning. they were "backcountry bulls" as my pro photography co-worker called them, every time a car drove past they got scared and started to run away more. eventually them moved far enough away they crossed the river, but the fog was to think to get any shots of it (or see them do it for that matter)
