    WildFlower ID

    Wile trying to get some Heron Photos yesterday i came accross this Flower anyone have a ID on it .

    Maybe it would be nice to get a thread going with wild flowers in it and try to ID them . We all walk by wild flowers almost every day , so it`s not subject matter thats going to be missing here. Anyone up for it

    So how about this one for a first i have no idea of what it is, so im of to buy a book today

    I'm not sure how useful a WFID thread will be if no one can ID this one I know I can't help much with IDing flowers. I don't recall a flower expert being a regular here (hope I can be proven wrong on that one).

    i know alot of the ones around me, and have a book for east and a book for west US. some of them you need to see more than just the flower to ID, stems leaves etc.

    i can try to look for these later though.

    Your wildflower appears to be marsh felwort. Do you have another photo that shows the inner part of it? Also, if you could give an idea of the size it would be a big help.

    Sorry i dont have one of the inside Payn , the only other i have is this one. Dylan this i all i have of the leafs . One thing for sure that i remember is that these are growing on a vine.

    The vine makes a difference, it is likely a clematis. It's hard to pinpoint without seeing more of the flower structure. This one is really stumping me!

    Nice pics of it whatever it is.

    Almost positive it`s a wild Clematis Payn. Just havent found the exact picture of it in my book yet.

    my first though was clematis to... but the ones in ym moms garden have 6 petals.... but other wise look very similar

    that brings up the point with plants... its hard to ID many because there are so many invasive plants. it says that is native to the Alps and other regions over there...

    Plant and flower ID can be a great challenge for sure. It took 2 days for this one lol

    Well i posted my photo in a expert forum on plants and my ID is probably wrong . For sure its a Clametis but it may be a (Clematis columbiana ) instead lol , i will find out later this evening
