    Wild Turkeys

Wild turkeys are a challenging subject, because they have the best eyes in the woods and they are afraid of their on shadows. But, like most creatures, they are less cautious of things in the water. Here are a couple of the shots of turkeys I got from my Poke Boat this past summer.

Nice job Ron. About the only way I have gotten turkey photos is to call them in. You are right about them being scared of their own shadows. I have found it almost impossible to sneak up on them. It's much easier to hide and let them come to you.

Very true, Mike. Setting up and calling them in is how I've gotten all the shots that I've sold so far, but I posted these to show what can be done with a Poke Boat, and I like the shot of the hens parading across the back of a cove, even though I doubt I can sell it. About all they want is gobblers strutting.
