    Wild Cracker Horses

It was an interesting day. I ran alot on the beach barefoot yester so my feet where beat up and today I went to the prairie which had a ton of water so it was more like wetlands. I was in 3-4" of water the whole time and I only had running shoes so after 5 hours of that my feet are beat up so bad I can barely walk.

Anyways... I found a few wild horses and tried to take some pics. They where getting closer and closer to me and one came right up within 2 feet and looked at me. The first picture was at that point zoomed way out at 100mm just to give you an idea. We got scared because it's a wild horse and might bite or something so we moved away.

    Re: Wild Cracker Horses

People feed them, or they wouldn't have ever gotten that close. But moving away (slowly and carefully) when being approached by strange horses is a good idea even with domesticated ones.

Very cool. I didn't realize there were wild herd of Florida Crackers.

Somebody might feed them but I kind of doubt it because they are in a remote location that only crazy people like me would goto. Plus the Prairie is very secure with rangers and such. That would mean somebody might also feed the bison :eek6:

Wouldn't surprise me... most people are dummies.

I watched two people trying to get deer at the nature center to come and eat carrots from their hands. The deer looked at them like they nuts and after about ten minutes had enough and took off.
