    Who am I?

    Saw these two today. A woman walked by and asked me if they were "Organza" or something? I told her I had no idea cuz I had never seen them before. But, whatever they are, I believe they knew I was around because every time I moved a bit closer, they took off. Other ducks are more human-friendly

    I'm guessing the black one is the male? Later on, I saw a bigger one together with three smaller ones resting on a log in a pond. My guess is it was a mother her chicks. Not sure though.

    Does this look like the same duck?? If so it is a Hooded Merganser.

    Those are all mergansers, but the front one with a red head is a Common Merganser. Good shots!

    Wow! We're supposed to have those in my parts but I never ever seen one (common nor the hooded).
