    Whitetail Buck

    Zenfolio | Wildlife Photography

A few months ago, we were lucky to get some access to a very large ranch on the Rocky Mountain Front. Many nice trophy animals on the property.

Spent the past few months trying to get a close shot of this guy. Had a few different interactions, but he always kept us at a distance.
Finally, one evening a several weeks back - we were fortunate enough to spend about a half hour with him as the sun set. Beautiful animal..
He has since shed his antlers, so he is safe for another year!

This is really beautiful, Jaimie. You really have it all here - a wonderful composition, a great subject, beautiful light and I think your depth-of-field is perfect. This feels like more than just a photo of a deer. It feels like a *sensitive* deer *portrait*. I'm really pleased that you take the time to share your wildlife photos with us. I am always surprised, impressed and inspired by your work
