    Waxwing

Finally got back to shooting birds for a short time yesterday. Not many wanting to brave the wind, but got a decent capture of one of my favorites, a Cedar Waxwing.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

Thanks Pete. Birds are what got me started with photography, then started shooting other wildlife. Lately I've been spending more time on landscape and rural scenes. So it was rather refreshing to go back to birds, if only for a brief respite.

    That's a really nice photo, Ken. He's a cocky-looking little guy.

Can you give us some technical details on how you shot this photo? Where did you shoot it? How far away were you and what lens did you use?

    Thanks for sharing!

    Re: Waxwing

Thanks John. I found this bird along the Musselshell River, near my home in eastern MT. Taken with a Canon 1D Mk IV, EF 400 f/2.8 IS L & 1.4 TC II. He was hanging onto a dormant shrub on the riverbank, about 60 ft distant.
