Snuck out last night to fnally shoot some stuff. Saw what I thought were two fighting male monarchs. As soon as I shot this image, the top one took flight with the bottom one still attached and drooping like a keel.

I tried desperately to get a mid-air shot of them as I have never seen them do that before. Perhaps another day

I've got to draw the line soon though. Paul you remember giving me advice on how to deal with chiggers a few weeks ago? Well there back. I now have a war waging in my crotch. This is not very fun at the moment

Time get that summer haircut :lol: and buy some more clear nail polish! I can't say I have ever gotten into my subject that much(or is that my subject got into me?)

I have exited the water(mud actually) and removed a few dozen leaches . My record tick day was 97 of them and I never went back to that field, nor will I !!!!!

Ah the things us nature photogs endure to get the image .

This pic was taken with my old 1.2 mp olympus ... we were at the zoo and the wife was taking photos .. she told the boy that they were "hugging" I had all I could do not to laugh as she was just taking photos of them .... the black stripe is the partition of the windows we were looking into the lions

I had no idea this thread even existed. Now that I know it does, I can make a contribution to it.

Here are two leaf weevils doing what comes naturally. I actually watched the female choose between two competing males. She chose the smaller of the two. Know why? Because he was the lesser of two weevils of course.
