    Wandered today

I went out wandering again today with my camera. Played with an old 50mm lens off my K1000 a bit, mostly used my 80-320 though and just plain had fun.

This is the slough I was wandering around today...

    Shrivelled berries...

    A fungus...

Kind of a moody shot of some moss...

    A chickadee....

    A squirrel...

A fun shot of a chickadee taking off...

And an advertisement for my camera???

Look at the ice on that pond....brrr....glad I am in SW Ontario....no ice here yet...some sleet last week is about all.

The shot of the moss captures my attention for some reason...noting I can put my finger on...I just like it....might be the fading DOF...very cool though.

    TFS...cheers,

    Re: Wandered today

    Nice wanderings.

I too like the moss. The lighting, composition, and dof is nicely done. But I think the lack of color is what makes it moody.

I also like the chickadee in flight. I like to see images that have frozen/blurred action by using a combination of ambient light and flash.

You have a way with chickadees - I remember a shot you posted last year of one joining you during your coffee break.

    Re: Wandered today

Thanks Loupey. I think you are right about that moss shot, I'm thinking of printing it and adding it to my wall...something about it that I like. I can always count on the chickadees to come around when I'm out, they are sure friendly little birds. I missed a shot yesterday of one in my camera bag! I also missed a shot of a very large woodpecker with a big red crest, and of a downy woodpecker. Sometimes you just can't be quick enough with the camera, pity though...

Nice, looks like a good wander. Really like the moss one. I always end up taking too many pictures of moss.

Scott, Very nice and I love the mood conveyed. My favorites are the moss and chickadee in flight.
