    A walk in the Woods

Just got out of the house today after injuring my foot. Took this shot of a deer path on my land.
I had the white balance set to manual from a previous photo so I didn't quite get what I wanted, but sharing anyway ;-)

Re: A walk in the Woods

    Hi Joe,
Man that looks like some deep woods. One could get lost just walking 100yards :-)

    On a technical note.
According to your EXIF data on this photo you have the White Balance set to Cool White Fluorescent.
Probably set when we were shooting the aquariums.

If you mouse over a photo in the forum and right click a list of items comes up. One of them is View EXIF data.
It will look like this: NOTE: this EXIF data file is from one of my pictures not the one you posted.

Another note: If for some reason you didnot want the EXIF data attached to the photo you can remove it.
In ViewNX, during conversion from RAW to jpeg you can check the remove the EXIF data box.

Now the pine needles look like pine needles. Nicely done.

Remember our discussion on whether to shoot RAW or not.
This is a perfect example of why one should shoot RAW.

Fixing WB in jpeg format is very painful.
In RAW it is 1 click.... OK, OK maybe 2 clicks HaHa

    In ViewNX
    WB value
Type the new WB value in (say 5200 for sunny day) and click save.
    That's it. :-)

Looking forward to seeing more shots from your neck of the wood.
Virginia is such a beautiful state.

I will never forget to shoot RAW LOL!!!
I had to first convert back to a tiff file before View NX would allow me to make balance changes. As a jpeg, it only lets you fix minor things. I guess that is why Capture is much better. I will have to save and buy the license key. My foot is acting up again and it is gorgeous outside. I feel locked up. Can't wait to get better. Stay in touch and I will post asap.
