Two Shots for the Price of One

While photographing a backlit milkweed pod, noticed a grasshopper making its way up the stem. Shot them both separately, then together. I was rooting for the little guy to keep climbing all the way. Sometimes it just works out.

    Both on Kodachrome 64
    Canon A-1
    FD 200mm Macro
    Natural lighting (no reflectors/no strobes)
    1984

Nowadays, when I'm rigged with a macro setup, I just walk real slow and look introverted (looking at my feet).

I don't know, I think a bit of fill may have been in order here ;)

I like that top one, but I'm a fan of more evenly lit subjects(just my narrow minded opinion)

I must be just as narrow minded as you Paul, because I generally prefer more evenly lit subjects as well.

Don't get me wrong, they are good images, but not my taste. There is a reason for menus to have pasta, fish, steak and pork on them..... to cover the whole group who have different tastes ;)

I actually love the backlit grasshopper without the milkweed. He's an adorable little bugger! I wish the shadows weren't so dark but otherwise I love the mood. He's got personality!

And I'll have the salmon with dilled pasta, please ... ;)
