    Tube Birds

I set the blind up again this morning. This time I set it up a little closer to the tree. I was too close for my big lens to focus, so I added a 12mm tube to get the lens to focus a little closer. I hope to get out some more, later today, and tomorrow. Both images are full frame.

I really like these shots, I wish I had your patiences to be able to sit and wait for birds like you do. I'd freeze. Keep up the great work I really like the top bird the best, it really seems to come out to me.

Mike - nice demonstration of the usefulness of these tubes.

When I review the spec's of potential lenses, it's nice to not be concerned about the close-focusing distance because I know it can be altered with tubes.

    Re: Tube Birds

    Thanks Chris, Amber and Loupey.

Loupey, that's a very good point about the close focusing distance when shopping for a new lens. I takes that issue right out of the equation if you have a set of tubes.

Here is another shot using the 12mm tube from this morning. The sun was out, and everything was very strongly backlit, so I had to loose the BG in order to get the bird exposed properly. I found it interesting that this one is only perched on one foot.

I'm with Amber. I love the way the second one is peering down.
