Trip to the zoo -

Finally stopped freezing here so I took the family to the local zoo finally - they had some babies and I have been wanting to get over there before they get too big.

The zoo is very small - just ask for donations durning the winter and the summer months only ask $4 for admission.

First stop was the monkey and bird house -





Then we went outside and the beavers had a nice sized hut in the middle of the pond.



The only bear they have.



Of course the long horned sheep



whats a trip to the zoo without the tiger



And finally the babies - I believe in july the Lions had cubs - 4 of them to be exact. I believe I read that it is a first for a lion in captivity to have 4 cubs. They were out and playing hard.

The zoo is very small - we were only there for 2 hours.Alot of the bigger animals are inside and don't have viewing for the public - giraffes / rhinos ... But well worth the stop for the cubs. Right on the lake just north of downtown Racine.
