    Tough bird to capture.

Of all the birds I see quite often, the Brown Creeper has to be one of the biggest challenges. They'll fly to the bottom of a tree and creep all the way up. It's not that they move any faster than other birds, it's just that their coloring blends in so well to the tree. If you don't catch them from the right angle, you won't hardly be able to pick them out in the photo. Anyway, I finally got one at the right time. A blue sky bg would have been nicer, but I'm not complaining.

    Nice job, Mike.

Yeah definitely one of the more difficult species. They scamper up the tree too fast and often in a spiral so getting one in the right place at the right height is a whole lotta luck

Add to that, I probably only see only half a dozen or so all year.

Nice image Mike. I have only seen a few of them, and like Loupey said, they spiral around the tree and I wasn't in the right place to get the shot.

As far as I'm concerned, luck can be just as important as talent.

I agree. Anyone who claims that luck isn't/shouldn't be a factor is full of crap.

Now that you mention it, I see creepers often, but don't have any pictures of one.

"...luck can be just as important as talent." And hard work trumps both.

"Or is someone who is an armchair photographer." Whoops - caught me.

Brown creepers are quite hard to catch. I find knowing the call(extremely high pitched) helps greatly to atleast find them. As you stated, they are small and blend into thier environment quite well.

Great job and captured even better!

What a neat bird, I can see how it would blend into that bark almost perfectly. Nice job catching one.
