    todays walk

It's warm enough, so went looking for dragonflies. Saw one, but no photo. Instead, here's some other characters that didn't mind a photo. I still got some catchin up to do, but this is my first half-decent hawk in the wild. Yellow rump? I think the other is a commorant, or an anhinga with different plumage than last time I saw one.

Nice job. I especially like #1 for the action captured. I also like #3 - very clean image - no distractions there.

    These with your 400mm?

Good stuff. I especially like the warbler -- they move around so much its hard to get a good shot. Anhingas have straight bills and commorants have a hook at the end -- at least the double-crested species we get in FL.

A great series, i take it that the anhinga is in the cormorrant family? it looks similar, and the hawks are superb.

    Re: todays walk

    Thanks folks.

These are with the 75-300 I just got.

Knight, you get awesome birds all the time, that can't be so. We got our fair share of them too.

LL, that warbler stayed about 6 feet away long enough for me to get about 10 shots. It might have stayed longer if not for some brats running around.

Bev, and paul I thought the hawks were the worst, shows what I know. It was in a tree about 30 feet up with a hill right beside it so, I was ableto get to eye level, it was nice.

Copy, I dig the anhingas too. I waited in the bushes about 30 minutes waiting for a decent pose, but couldn't get the "drying wings" pose.
