    Re: Today's macros

Thanks guys, i'm using a sony a-100 with a 90mm Tamron macro, anyone know about these extention tubes I keep reading and hearing about? Are they pricey? They basically allow you to extend your focal length? So one doesnt have to get right up on top of their insect subject to take some great shots, is this correct?

These shots are just great! Amazing detail in all of them. The fly - no words to describe it!

As for the tubes - they shorten your focal length to allow you to get closer. I suggest taking a gander at Loupeys thread on them here Extension Tubes - Full Disclosure

but with results from your macro like this - why change your equipment ??????????

The detail in the eyes in #1 is absolutely spectacular (I think I am the first to use that word in this thread so no one can take THAT away from me lol =P ) Simply outstanding. I aspire to achieve those results one day.
