    Tiny Frogs

Found a puddle with several dozen tadpoles/frogs in various stages of transformation. The tail of this one is still clearly evident although it was found walking about in the grass next to the puddle.

On the tip of my index finger to show the scale.

Very cool. It's amazing that anything that small is alive, isn't it?

And, my guess is american toad. What did the tadpoles look like? small, black, comma shaped?

Not sure that it is an AT. The tadpoles were much browner and the head wasn't as bulbous and the tail was more prominent (on those which still had them). I will try to get a shot of them if I can get back soon.

Long time ago was walking in an area where you couldn't walk without stepping on them unless you were very careful. Tiny little things hopping everywhere.
    Cute little buggers.
I like how you put it on your finger so it really shows how small they are.

Very cool find! I concur that it appears to be a toad.
