    Tales from the river bank

I'm not going to get out shooting this weekend so here are a few taken beside the river that runs near my house a week or two ago that I have just got round to cleaning up today.
    No 1 - Rufous-tailed Jacamar
    No 2 - Whistling Heron
No 3 - Purple -throated euphonia
    No 4 - A Rufous Hornero

Thanks for sharing – those are all birds which most of us would likely never see. Love the low shooting angle of #4.

    Such cool "exotics"!

Love the jacamar with the dragonfly.

Re: Tales from the river bank

Thanks very much for the comments guys. If anyone is planning to visit Brazil let me know beforehand as I have some recommendations for birding sites that you wont find on the tourist agendas. I am planing a trip down to the Pantanal early next year which is one of the top wildlife spots in the world. I went there before and it blew my mind but this time I am planing to drive there so I can have the freedom of my own vehicle instead of going on a tour.
I'll be sure to post up some images when I do go, see if I can't persuade any of you guys to head south to escape the northern winter.
