Take a look, inside..

This was taken a few years ago. Called nearby university entomology dept. - they were not interested. Said was common near bodied of water.
We have a small pond that is about 1000 feet away.

If we tapped on the window these hornets would come out "fighting mad" start hitting the window panes, sounded like hail on the roof.
(I don't think any of those in the pictures were smiling for the camera)

Did some video and had several that brought friends to come upstairs and watch the activity.

After a while we were afraid visitors to front door might get stung, SO out came the night time spray and after two sessions we scraped the nest off the window.

Bald faced wasps are some of the meanest "bees" to mess with(I am an arborist). What a great look into the nest though.

Too cool! It's almost a shame that it had to be destroyed.

On a similar note, we brought our new puppy home a few weeks back and 40 minutes after getting out of the car the puppy stepped into a ground nest of yellowjackets (or hornets). He got stung about a dozen times and I got stung about 8 times trying to fend off the wasps. He was at the vet within an hour of getting home. Yeah, that nest was destroyed too.
