    Tadpole ID?

Recently came across this small pool with tadpoles as gaudy as a fisherman's lure.

About 2" long. Any ideas on the species of frog.

Yeah, that's too much work for me to try to ID it that way (like punching computer keys is too much work )

Me neither. No - there was a whole school (pod or whatever a group of tadpoles are called) swimming around with these crazy tails.

very interesting! Can you catch a dozen or so and put them in a fish tank to see what they turn into?

    Re: Tadpole ID?

It was over two weeks ago when I took that image. I'm thinking they've fully morphed by now. But perhaps I can go back and find one that still has a little bit of the tail left.
