    Still around - The Kestrel.

On the same trip to my local pond where the baby ducks are i was pleased to see the female Kestrel still flying her territory there and these were caught just as she was being chased off by crows.

    Nice find, Bev!

Don't you just love how long they can hover, only to move away as you try to get into position?

    Thanks Knight and Loupey.

Knight i dont think ours are as colourful as Loupeys ones but i think thats the only difference.

Yes its quite frustrating Loupey when you get everything set up, finger on shutter button and away it goes, im sure they know exactly what your doing!

I'm still trying to get a shot with a hovering one head-on. Thinking about it now, I'd like to get any shot of a kestrel flying/hovering somewhat in my direction

Nice shot's Bev, the only time I see any raptors is when a crow is chasing them away (I hate crows).

Thanks Copy, we have to be in the right place at the right time over here, they are extremely shy birds, its just luck with this one liking my local park as its habitat.
