    Spring trip

took a trip to raccoon state park today, its suppose to be phenomenal for wildflowers, but its still alittle early in the season.

and then i saw this guy, i had to wade about mid shin deep in mud to get close, and then i saw he was hurt pretty bad, wasn't using his right rear leg, and had his tail tucked under his body or gone completely.

Great to see your photos though rather sad about the racoon - you can almost tell by its eyes. What's the name of the top flower? We've got it here too! Is it Scilla?

raccoons are very tough animals. It should be fine honestly. Could the injury be from a snapping turtle maybe?

    Re: Spring trip

i didn't see the injury at all, just that it wasn't usng its leg ( it was stomach deep in mud, and then swimming) so i have no clue what could have caused it. but you could tell by its behavior that something was wrong.
