    Yellow-crowned Night Heron

    Was riding through town today and spotted the bird in the park, Jeff

    Cool-looking bird!

    Nice shots. I like #2 most, for the natural, and simpler background/foreground. Also the bird's pose seems better.

    Compositions look OK. The last one I wish there was a bit shallower DOF, but it is OK as is.

    I haven't ever seen one before either. I was driving through town and when I glanced over and saw it. I left the car running still setting in the road and ran over to take these very quickly. My son looked it up in his book to see what kind of bird it was. This is the same place I drove by the other day and got the picture of one of the alligators I posted, Jeff
