    South Texas Birds

So this is the final installment, South Texas Birds, 6 photos.

For this one, I mostly have photos of birds exclusive to the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas: Plain Chachalaca, Green Jay, Altamira Oriole, Black-crested Titmouse, and Common Pauraque. I'm also throwing in a Roadrunner pic. Roadrunners can be found in other southern states as well, but it was a lifer for me, and I was really happy to find some.

    1) Plain Chachalaca, Canon T3, Canon 400mm, f5.6, ISO400, 1/800

    2) Green Jay, Canon T3, Canon 400mm, f5.6, ISO800, 1/1000

    3) Common Pauraque, Canon T3, Canon 400mm, f5.6, ISO1600, 1/100

    4) Black-crested Titmouse, Canon T3, Canon 400mm, f5.6, ISO400, 1/400

    5) Altamira Oriole, Canon T3, Canon 400mm, f5.6, ISO400, 1/250

    6) Greater Roadrunner (soggy subspecies), Canon T3, Canon 400mm, f5.6, ISO200, 1/1250

    Thanks for looking.

Yeah, near Brownsville anyhow. The Pauraque was at Resaca de la Palma which is on the Rio in Brownsville. The Chacha was at Estero Llano Grande nearby at Weslaco. And all the rest were at Laguna Atascosa, just north of Brownsville.
