Some recent stuff - Stopping by to say hello!

    Hi All,

Just stopping by to say hello to all my friends here! I have been very busy shooting this spring/summer, as well as being a moderator of another forum, but this forum is still "family" for me as well! Miss you guys, and sorry I haven't been able to post in too many places at once :cryin: . I can tell you that I have a lot of respect for Paul and Loupey! Moderating is a lot of work! Anyway, here are some of my recent shots. Keep on shooting! I promise I'll try and stop by to at least comment every now an then.

Thanks all! I'll try and stop by a bit more. If nothing else to at least look and see what everyone here is doing, and to comment from time to time.

Frog - I actually shot a whole series of these types of images called "Splash Art" This was just one of several (different species too). Fun stuff.

Canon Bob, great shots. The first, second and last ones would be wall-hangers in my house. As an aside, I see you are from Fort Meyers. I hope (right now big hope) to get down to the Naples area in November, maybe, if you don't mind (let me know), I can send you a PM for some advice on places to go for some good wildlife photography, where I don't have to drive miles to get there. You folks have birds and other wildlife that I would otherwise never, ever get to see outside of maybe a zoo, if that. I will definitely bring my "Birds of North America" book if I can get there.

Not sure what will still be around in November, but anything will be more than we have way up here at that time of year.

    Cheers,

    WesternGuy

There's plenty to shoot here in November. Let me know when your plans hone in a bit more, and I'll let you know what spots are active.

Re: Some recent stuff - Stopping by to say hello!

    Thanks guys!

Loupey - I must admit that I'm having fun as well. It's just a lot different when you're helping others improve their images. I don't post nearly as many images as I used to here. I spend much more time looking at others work, and helping them improve. It's fun, but a lot of work too. Labor of love, though. I know you and Paul can relate ;-)

Paul - Yes, I just started posting on Facebook in the past couple months (and then created a dedicated site). The following is small thus far, but growing daily. I guess it gives me a place to put my work up for those who want to see it, and at the same time spend a bit more time givint the interpersonal aspects of the images. It's different, but I think people are enjoying it. Thanks for following me there!

Thanks, will definitely take advantage of your offer. Plans should hone in, or not, later in the summer.

Hey, Bob, I recently received my 2011 calendar from The National Audubon Society.

One of your roseate spoonbill images (image #4223273 I think) is the April image.

    Congrats! You definitely deserve it.

Thanks Loupey - I had seen that! They actually picked two spoonbill images. Not sure where the other ended up.
