Some mammals to interrupt the bird pictures

In the past week, I've been able to take pictures of a couple of mammals.

The first is a skunk that my office mate captured as part of his master's thesis. He had put a radio collar on it previously, so we documented the capture and released it. No innocent humans were sprayed for this photo!

Next is an armadillo from Friday. It was somewhere over 80F outside and lots of things were out and about. This guy was rummaging through a brush pile near the dirt road I was on. I hopped out to take a picture and it took its time moving along. I was able to get a few, and I think this one is one of the best.

Haha, no. The wife would probably kill me. She's a veterinarian and when she saw this picture, she implored me to leave them alone because they carry leprosy.

Nice shots Nate. Love the armadillo, such a strange looking animal. I'd love to see one.

By all means please interrupt the bird pictures - diversity is great and I certainly can't find much mammalian diversity around here.

    So bring it on.

but they are super hard to catch by hand.

The skunk pictures are definitely dark.

First, I don't have a flash yet aside from the little built-in job on my Rebel XS.
Second, the trap the skunk was leaving was inside a pretty large brush pile, shading what ambient light was available.

Then again, I could probably brighten them up a bit in post. I just didn't feel like it.
