    Some fly macros



    Having some DOF issues (getting the eyes and thorax to both remain in focus is a continual challenge for me) I posted some in the critique section, here are some from a fresh roll.

    You did well considering the high level of magnification here.

    To get a deeper DOF, I think you have no choice but using artificial lighting (strobes) so you can crank down the aperture. The trick will be in how you set up the light(s) so that you can maintain the natural look. Look at flash examples by Sushigaijin and Canon_Bob for inspiration.
