So Common They May be Invisible

We get these blackbirds congregating right at sunset. They swarm in then leave after about 10 minutes to go whereever they go for the night.

These are from the back dock of my company last night as I had to work late anyway. Can't find a high enough vantage point to get a decent sunset with the birds. All with the 300mm + 2x TC in the fading light.

The first one makes me think "Nonconformist"

The word that comes to my mind is ostracized. On one of the other photos, it looks like one was kicked off the wire.

Loupey, these are great. I actually smiled a bit when I saw the first one.

    Cheers,

Mike - good observation - there were indeed a lot of pushing and shoving going on. Like school boys in line, two would start going at it and one would get pushed off only to try a new spot in line.

Yarrow - thanks! I will try it again on a better sunset night. Only problem is that my office is squarely on the east side of the building and many days I don't even know how hot/cold the day was (or if it even rained for that matter) - let alone how the sunset is progressing

WesternGuy - I love it when I can make anyone smile Thanks!

Knight - I was thinking of you when I shot these

Stuck at work again tonight. Time to head back and see if there's going to be a nice sunset tonight.

    Thanks for looking, Knight.

    Kinda weird quoting yourself.

Anyway, two more shots - that night was a little nicer.

Re: So Common They May be Invisible

Just a quick update on this series:

On Saturday afternoon I delivered about $1k worth of newer matted/framed work to one the galleries that sells my work. I included a few copies of image #3 in the original post here.

Turns out that that image was the most popular and I sold out of that image in the same day. I'm happy that people found the humor in it.
