A snake in the hand, Worth two in the bush.

blue racer, coluber constrictor foxii, kankakee county, april of last year. I am finding that as my taste in photos changes, more and more of my older shots are being brought out of storage for processing and display. This one, for instance, was neglected because it is a crummy shot of a common snake - but the more I look at it, I think that it has broader appeal than a typical snake "voucher" shot - tell me what you think? I've also considered a b&w version and a cropped version, this one is full frame.

and a 100% crop, so you can see the detail is good since the snake is so small in the frame.

and here in high-contrast B&W. Too much contrast?

I'm not a fan of B&W nature , but the color image is pretty good.

I rather like the B&W one, Erik. Rather dramatic how the snake is coming out of the shadows. The color is good too. It's a toss up - go with your original choice.
