    Smaller birds BIF practice

Was out in Trailer Control this week and had a few days of great weather. In between trailer loads coming and going, I got some practice in. I think I'm getting better.

Exposure is off, but at least they're more in focus than they used to be!

This Grackle couple were excellent for panning practice. They just kept flying/chasing around in a circle and would fly right past me in the same location so I had tons of practice!

Getting really good! I still don't have one in focus. Maybe I should practice, huh? - TF

Thanks so much everyone! I'm thrilled that you think they're good. Now I have a good idea of what to strive for and settings on my camera etc.
Now I just need a cooperative sparrow and bluebird. hahahaha

Actually sparrows and bluebirds are quite difficult to capture in flight out in the open. Go for the birds that have a sustained flight.

That's what makes the swallows (especially the tree swallows) so accessible. Others would be hummingbirds, geese, ducks, hawks, kestrels, ... although many of these are camera shy so getting close is another matter.
