A slug, some sky, a fence, and some shrooms.

Have had some cool colors in the sky for the past couple days, think it may have turned out a little dark? Almost squished the slug on accident trying to get a picture of the bark. Same mushrooms from a week ago but more colorful. Let me know what you think.

That's a beautiful slug and cool bark! Personally, I would have shot it head-on (perpendicular to the bark) to show the interplay of textures between the slug and bark. I don't think the background sky/trees adds to this shot otherwise.

Your #2 shot is gorgeous. Love the subtle hues in the clouds near the horizon - a little color to an otherwise B&W shot. Nice. My only other comment would be that there seems to be a lot of blackness on the left side and bottom. Perhaps a slight crop would strengthen it.

Thanks for looking and the suggestions. I actually did take a couple shots of the slug without the background but for some reason kept going back to that one.

I thought about cropping it but didnt for some reason. Definitely looks better cropped though. Got another decent one with the same light. Cropped this one, increased saturation a little, and dropped the exposure. Try to avoid doing too much but really made it better.

That's really an awesomely handsome, gianormous slug!

Hope to see something like that someday.
