    She's back again.

I was sent into the garden from hearing this horrendous noise, birds shreeking and the chaffinchs and bluetits ticking as loud as they can, then i noticed her on next doors shed roof, The female sparrowhawk was back, she kept dive bombing the laurel bush where the sparrows had hidden up, she was like a missle! and the disheveled feathers show the force in which she hits the bush.
I didnt think she would still be there as i shot in doors for the camera, but there she was resting up on the roof, so i got these shots of her.

I was disappointed not to get a flight shot of her but i was aiming the camera through branches on a pear tree, and when she took off my lense couldnt follow her

After all the comosion had died down, i started worrying about my little mate, Chippy, after a few whistles i found him sitting in his favourite place and it looked like he just couldnt watch, its much too scary!!

That is a great looking hawk Bev. The image of Chippy 'hiding' is priceless... I'm glad Chippy is okay

Thanks Copy, I know its nature and i love this sparrowhawk, and her partner is just as awsome, but the birds do have such a stressful time during and after their visits, you dont see a bird for upto a couple of hours after, and as for poor Chippy what with this, and i am now sure that he has lost his partner "Pin" as she has disappeared and i have'nt seen her at all for 4 days now, and i know that she isnt on a nest anywhere as Chip is going frantic during the day and late into the evening, calling and flying back and forth, i am only hoping its not too late in the season for him to find another mate, although surveys show their is a shortage of female robins over here.

Those sparrowhawks are such handsome looking birds!

Sad to hear about Pin - it will be a quiet place without a family of robins this spring.
