Saturday walk (long post, many photos)

My first grandchild was born June 3 and we've been kept pretty busy with family staying here to see him since then. Today we had no-one here and I got out for a nice walk.

There was a coot playing in the water.

Then I came across this odd bug...(??)

And of course a butterfly...(don't ask me it's name)

    Some red flowers..(??)

    A lady-slipper orchid..

And hidden in the tall grass.. a Gnome's House...

    :wink5:

I waited to see if any other waterfowl would come close enough but..no luck so I took a picture of these snails in the water.

Then I wandered back, taking these two shots of dragonflies on my way...

All in all a fun day out playing with my new tripod, and a 2x converter I got off ebay and enjoying some quiet time.

Thank you Emily. I couldn't believe it when that dragonfly landed next to that knot in the wood, I knew it would really make the shot. Sometimes you can't beat pure luck.
