    Roses

Hi all! I've been hanging out in Viewfinder, not posting much. But recently I took a self-guided garden tour and found these roses. I can't decide which version I like better, although I'm leaning towards version 2, with the bloom in the foreground in focus. Looking at them now (I do my best reviewing a few weeks after I take a photo), I see that I should have tried to have more light on the blooms to bring them out just a bit more. But hey - that's how we learn, eh?

    Re: Roses

Hi, Obie - thanks for posting here.

I like #2 better too because it has more of a 3 dimensional feel to it. But the OOF bloom dominates so much of the image that it makes the entire image feel a bit OOF. It's like one person is looking off to the upper right and another is looking directly at the camera but OOF.

Perhaps a different crop (if this was a wider shot) or a different angle?
