did you work this in ps before posting?

the reason i ask is it has a "cut and paste" appearance.

don't take that as a critisizm as i am still trying to get the pictures down pat and haven't gotten into ps much at all yet.

Nice shots, and aren't they beautiful birds? Rarely see them where i live as well though one visited my birdfeeder this spring.

Yes, I'm learning... I've only had the software I used for about a week.

Where are you that you have breeding RB grosbeaks? Though Sibley says they are in NJ, they are extremely rare here and I have gotten to records for breeding birds, but never submitted them I don't report rare birds!!

The pictures were taken in up-state NY last year (north of Syracuse).

Did I break some kind of rule? I'm not clear on the etiquet(sp?) of posting such pictures, I wont do it again if it is a no-no.

I think what Paul was getting at is that he doesn't report rare bird sitings because they draw people out of the woodwork. Then all of a sudden a very peacefull, natural area starts to get over run by tons of people just wanting to see the rare bird. Then the birds home becomes a tourist attraction and makes things much more difficult for the bird to do it's thing.

It's nice to share rare birds (or anything for that matter) with others, but most of the time, it's better for the bird if fewer people know about it.

Nice photos. I had one of these land about 10 feet from me 2 weeks ago, but I totaly blew the exposure on it.:mad2:

The last time I saw one of these I was in pretty deep woods. Nice catch.
