Are you already on the peninsula? Looks like it's a possibility. Great shots! The water looks a tad flat or is that just one of those 'light things'?

Great images here..... they are better than the images in the link on the Views on bird photography thread even ;)

Sure they can be adjusted better(I stink at PS adjustments), but they are good either way considering the lighting.

Thanks for the comments paul and drg...

    Thanks for the comments guys..

Especially about the color. I should note that these were shot in the mid-day sun with (with puffy clouds now and then). Thus, the lighting was often harsh (and challenging). When shooting these, I was focused on (being in focus and) not blowing the highlights. Also, the water just is a bland, chalky mud color. And, a lot of the mangroves died in the last two hurricanes (storm surges). Ergo, there is not much going on color wise in many of my shots (except for the birds), and the histograms were quite narrow.

Further I'm just working off a laptop down here, and I don't trust this LCD for telling me what I'm doing. I don't want to stretch the histograms much in post processing because I want to keep the animal colors true. For PP work, I just make sure that I have shadow detail ... and trusted that the camera did the rest. I have the original RAW files that I can re-work back in the States if I need to.

    Cheers,
    Tim
