Rescued a sea turtle and penguin. DESPERATELY need your help!

I'm at my wit's end. I had the amazing adventure of rescuing both a sea turtle and a penguin yesterday, and I'm hoping some of the animal experts here can tell me what to do next...

They were being held captive in the window of a toy shop at a nearby mall, the featured participants in a revolting public display, a shameful spectacle whose sole purpose was simply the amusement of passers-by...

Miraculously, somehow I managed to convince the store manager to release them into my custody by giving him a fairly sizeable amount of cash.

Now the turtle should be right at home here in Central Florida, but it's the penguin I'm especially worried about. It will be at least a week before I turn the animals over to the loving care of my two beautiful nieces as late Christmas gifts (both smart as heck and animal and nature lovers).

Until then I'm stuck, and my ice machine can only do so much... ;)

Ok, ok. Just wanted to wish everyone here a Happy New Year! I know I don't have anything close to the great shots you guys post all the time, but one of my guilty pleasures is lurking in this forum and enjoying them nonetheless...

    Keep up the good work!

BTW, the two animals are big boys (or girls as the case may be). Each one is close to three feet in length...

Your penguin is modeled after the KING PENGUIN , which indeed is a sub-arctic bird I would suggest putting it close to the AC and cross your fingers ;)

lol...when I read the headline of this thread it reminded me of an instance when some environmentalists had saved this seal, nurtured it back to health, and then called the media and held a big whoop-dee-doo about releasing the animal back into the wild. As they let the little critter return to his natural environment, the audience was afforded a great lesson by mother nature. In horror they watch the little seal get gobbled up by a big 'ol killer whale!

Steve, don't let them back into the water! lol
