Reddish Egret Series - 5 images

From today. Same bird, but varying angles and backgrounds. All captured by laying face down in the mud, with the lens barely above water level. I love the POV by using this technique (combined with a narrow DOF). It's hard to do, but the effect sure is fun!

This one is my favorite. He blocked the sun with his wings, and yet his eyes still caught a catchlight. I love the effect.

Very nice and that perspective can't be beat IMHO. Don't you just love how they hunt the shadows they make with their wings.

If you laid face down in the mud for these shots, you earned them. You make me so envious,in more ways than one. Spectacular shots.

Lovely images! I especially like #1.

I agree - the low POV makes for very natural looking, pleasing images.

The first one would have to be my favorite. Absolutely stunning shots.
