    Red-Tail Hawk Attacks Vulture

I wish these had turned out better. The overcast sky's and low light didn't help. This Redtail was defending its territory no matter what size the other bird was. Must be breeding season. The first picture is the redtail attacking a Turkey Vulture and the second he is attacking another larger red-tail. It was awesome to watch this..The last two pictures I was running through the brush and mud so I missed the contact by a fraction of a second, but you get the idea.

Cool captures. It is neat to see nature in action isn't it?

Thanks guys. These birds are great to watch. I'm looking forward to some better weather in hopes of capturing more action from these guys.

That would have been cool to witness. Congrats on capturing the moments.

The pictures are fantastic. But the narrative leaves me unsure. Is it correct to assume that the courageous Red-Tail Hawk successfully defended its territory?

I love watching these dog fights, There are about 20 crows living in a huge maple tree across the street anytime a hawk or vulture and even our resident goshawk go by the crows attack it. but everytime it happens I don't have the camera and by the time I run to get it it;s all over
