Red Hawk, Wabbit, and friends

Did a walk on the trail behind where I live and found some critters.. I was going for some odd close up stuff on the hawk so they might come off different.

Are these photos too big? They seem larger then most posts.

Also! I am open to any critique you may have to help me improve. The harsher (with tips) the better!

And... what type of hawk is it? I think it's a red shouldered. Do the eyes really vary with these birds? CaraRose's hawk in that sweet post has pretty yellow eyes and this one has brown. I hope I don't come off as dumb because I really want to figure out what I am shooting!
