Random shots - Need an ID on one of them.

Here are a few more from a nice weekend out. Mostly experimental stuff from yesterday, but a couple from Saturday as well. I don't know what that small bird is. He was in the marsh, and basicaly acted like a Meadowlark, but looks to be some kind of Sparrow to me. Can't find him in my book.

Spoonbill. Canon 1DsMII, 600mmL plus 2x TC, -1/3 EV, ISO 400, f/8, 1/320sec, Laying in the mud with a Gel Circ. Pola. filter in due to late morning light. Really just messing with the 600 and 2x to develop a feel for sharpness and DOF at wide open (f/8). I think the horizon may be about 1 deg off on this. Looks like maybe a nudge CCW will get it right.

Juvi Wood Stork. Canon 1DsMII, 600mmL, 1/3 EV, ISO 400, f/4, 1/5000, Laying in the mud. No filter, late morning light. He was fairly close.

I have no idea what this one is. Very timid. Nearly impossible to get clean shot. Just looking for ID on this one, as the image isn't that good IMO.

Mature Wood Stork. I liked his hand position, and find it very weird how similar their hands are to ours!

Amazing shots Bob, truly amazing. I just love that Spoonbill, it would look fantastic framed and hung on the wall.

Wow, I really like the first shot of the Spoonbill. Nice shooting Bob!

Another nice series Bob. My first thought when I saw your unknown bird was that it looks a lot like a house finch. Just a guess tho.

Thanks for the compliments Cassie and Slayer! Much appreciated!

Mike - I have ID'd the unknown as a Savannah Sparrow. Thanks!

    ETA - I tweaked that spoonbill a bit. I think it's a keeper:

Some sort of sparrow was my second guess.

I am not 100% sure, but am 90% sure you have a savannah sparrow and it looks close to the "ipswich" variety from Nova Scotia, but I doubt it?
