    A quick closeup attempt

    1D/100-400IS/500D closeup lens.

I forgot my tripod :mad2: , so I was going handheld, which is VERY hard to do. This image is not good, but it shows what a 500D on a telephoto can give you.

This is at around 400mm with the 500D at F13. I would say I was 16-18 inches from my subject roughly(lens to subject) and the subject is a spittlebug in it's ...spittle.

    Re: A quick closeup attempt

Aah thats what its called! i was cursing the dirty old man that i thought had been spitting when i came across some on the thistles this morning.

joking apart, your image is clear and sharp, i tried, and it came out looking like a dirty blob, highlights blown etc. The battle continues with the settings!!!:mad2:
